One of my favorite sites, www.designhergals.com and Gal to Gal Foundation™ has created a “virtual event” to raise funds and awareness for Stage IV breast cancer. Gal to Gal Walk is a virtual fundraising walk that you can take across America. First, you create your own virtual likeness online; next you make a minimum of a $3 donation; and then watch yourself take a virtual walk across America. The walk began in the virtual city of Boston and it will conclude later this week on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
The cityscapes change on a daily basis, giving you a reason to return to see where you are walking that day. Very cool! Gal to Gal Ambassadors (such as Lynn Redgrave, Kristin Chenoweth, and Molly Sims) along with sponsors such as Yoplait, FTD, Fodor’s guide books, Rosa Regale Sparkling Wine, Checks Unlimited, and Lucy Clothes will help spread the word. Time is running out! Please join and help The Foundation reach their goal of registering 1 million walkers in the month of October for this worthy cause. This is such an easy way to participate in a fundraising walk, and yet they are so far away from reaching their goal. Ugh! You still have time! Visit www.GaltoGalWalk.org, and register your gal. It’s fun to design a gal that looks just like you and you are helping others at the same time.
The Gal to Gal Foundation identifies, partners with, and provides funding to existing organizations dedicated to the emotional and financial well-being of Stage IV Breast Cancer survivors. The Gal to Gal Foundation believes that women diagnosed with Stage IV Breast Cancer deserve a great amount of support in order to maintain their dignity while receiving treatment throughout the progression of their disease.
